Name: JD Cichocki

Bio: JD has had a knack for drumming since his early years, seeing as he couldn’t stay away from his big sister’s drum set. He then began his drumming journey at the age of 8 when he started taking private lessons. Once he reached middle/high school, drumming became second nature as he pursued symphonic band, music theory, marching band and jazz band; he also performed in his high school’s show choir. Percussion, reading music and playing quints were always fun for him but was never quite enough. JD joined his first touring act at the age of 16 and has never looked back. Since then, he’s toured playing shows through the entirety of the United States and even did a two week tour performing shows in Europe. JD went to college at Longwood University where he still played shows with metal/punk bands in Richmond from time to time. One day away at college he decided to take on DJing as a hobby, quickly coming to realize that he had found another passion. While being stuck in a dorm/house brought little room for drumming while away at school, DJing brought out a different dedication and love to music. After graduating from Longwood in 2019 with an exercise science degree, JD has since co-founded a hybrid wedding band (DJ + drums), joined two metal bands and DJs for weddings almost every weekend. JD is ecstatic about beginning his journey with Bravo as he wants to share his passion for drums and percussion with everyone. He’s excited to help guide others towards success by reaching their full potential with technique, rhythm and repetition. His favorite genres of music to drum to are classic rock, metal, jazz and alternative. JD is now taking students on Mondays between the hours of 4 and 7pm for both DJ and drum lessons.
